|
CD players are not as varied in basic design as amplifiers. The player takes all the 1's and 0's on the disc, samples them and converts them back to a roughly analog waveform after filtering off the sampling frequency. The DAC (digital to analogue converter) and filter do this job, and so are vital components. Better players have better or even multiple DACs, and filter component quality goes up in better players. Some players then put the signal through a valve stage to sweeten the sound.
